← 🌱 Family Wins

Privacy, in plain words

Family Wins is a small app made by a parent for families. Here is exactly what happens with your information.

What we store

The email addresses of grown-ups who sign in; the profiles you create (names, optional birthdays, emoji avatars); and what you record — journeys, progress, practice sessions, milestones, rewards, and chess games you add or sync from a public Chess.com profile.

How it's protected

Names, birthdays and notes are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) with a key unique to your family before they are stored; the secret that derives those keys lives only in the app's server environment, never in the database or its backups. Every read and write is checked by database rules against your family. Data travels over HTTPS and the database disk is encrypted. The app decrypts your data to show it to you, so this is strong protection for stored data rather than end-to-end encryption.

Who can see it

Only the grown-ups who belong to your family space. Every family's data is isolated at the database level. Children don't have logins or email addresses.

Where it lives

In a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database hosted in Mumbai, India, and served by Vercel. Puzzles are fetched from Lichess and chess analysis runs in your own browser — your games are not sent anywhere for analysis.

What we never do

No ads, no selling or sharing data, no tracking pixels, no marketing emails.

Deleting your data

You can remove profiles, journeys and games inside the app at any time. Under More → Your data, you can download everything your family has stored as one file, and the family's creator can permanently delete the whole family space in one step.
